Growing Jazz gives 1000+ tickets
to local school children
for 2007-2008 KRTU | Trinity Jazz concerts
KRTU and Trinity
University have prepared an exciting
line-up of jazz musicians coming to San Antonio,
and Growing Jazz
ensures that the opportunity for exposing San
Antonio's youth to some of the highest caliber
jazz musicians in the world is not wasted.
With the support of our members, Growing Jazz
will actively involved over a thousand elementary,
middle, and high school students in these
concerts at no charge to the students. For many, it
will be
their first jazz concert, and many respond with unconstrained
enthusiasm.
With the 2007-2008 concert season, Growing
Jazz is laying the foundation for even more
student attendance and a more rounded
experience. With the assistance of the
Trinity University Jazz Ensemble, we're giving
students the chance to witness, interact, and
ask questions of these University students prior
to the main concerts. We're exposing the next generation
to America's original art form, just one aspects of
Growing Jazz in San Antonio. |
