In an effort
to enhance the existing jazz curriculum in San
Antonio area middle and high schools and provide
a substantial and lasting impact to the students
involved, KRTU will select 5 school jazz
programs to receiving the following
comprehensive benefits from the full range of
the Growing Jazz in
San Antonio program, including:

Tickets to major KRTU
concerts
at Laurie Auditorium including:

Quartet |

After-school
workshop
with 3 professional jazz musicians
to work with individual sections and
help students prepare for Spring
performances, especially UIL and the
St. Mary's Fiesta Jazz Festival

Performance opportunity at the
St. Mary’s Fiesta Jazz Festival
competition, including clinician
critiques. Performances at
this event will also be recorded,
edited, and broadcast on KRTU 91.7
FM as special Growing Jazz features,
with a copy for each band director.

Trinity University Summer Jazz
Camp Scholarship
for one student from each
participating school, where students
have a chance to grow in their
instrumental and improvisation
skills, as well as train for the
All-State Jazz ensemble competition. |

Growing Jazz Select
schools for 2007-08 and benefit from the
educational programs listed above, please fill
out the application forms (either hard copy or
on-line) listed to the left of this page.
Growing Jazz in San Antonio is funded
through the support of corporate sponsors,
foundations, and individual donors at no cost to
participating schools. If you know of any
businesses or individuals who may be interested
in supporting your ensemble’s participation in
the 2007-08 Growing Jazz in San Antonio
season, please include their names and contact
information along with your application.
